Third grade
Third grade is full of challenges and exciting learning experiences. During this new stage, students gradually go through the process of becoming independent learners. Students continue to learn basic skills through more in-depth themes and topics.
In reading class, weekly skill lessons in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and text comprehension optimize reading achievement and foster a love of reading.
Our science program consists of teaching life cycles, the solar system, matter, energy, forces, the Earth’s resources, and the roles of living things. Students use science process skills, critical-thinking skills, and scientific reasoning as they explore these topics.
In language arts class, basic lessons in grammar, usage and mechanics facilitate students’ ability to write more confidently. Learning the multiplication tables is the main event in math class and, who could possibly forget the excitement and anticipation of learning how to write in cursive?
