The Mazapan School National Honor Society (NHS) is an active group of15 to 20 students, on average, who work on a variety of social service projects. These projects include sponsoring a child at the Aldea SOS shelter for children, working with children at the Casa del Niňo, and raising money to sponsor scholarships for underprivileged young people to attend local high schools.
Students are chosen for membership in the NHS after undergoing a rigorous selection process by a group of teachers in the second semester of each school year. Members are eligible for selection during their freshman, sophomore, or junior years, but most are selected during their sophomore or junior years.
Meetings are held every Friday afternoon after school and most of our social service work is done on Saturdays.
