Our Teachers
We're very proud of our faculty, and although most teachers arrive at Mazapan only intending to stay for two years, many love the experience so much they decide to stay longer. The average tenure for a Mazapan teacher is 5 years, but some of our faculty have been here for more than 20 years.
Qualifications
All of our teachers have a bachelor's degree or the equivalent. About 70 percent have a master's degree or higher.
To teach at Mazapan we require:
- BS or BA in Education and Current Certification to teach in the USA, England, Australia or Canada
- A minimum of two years full-time teaching experience in the USA
- Significant recent professional development
- Technology skills and a commitment to improve in personal computer skills.
- Commitment to integration of technology into the classroom and curriculum
- Strong oral and written communication skills
We prefer:
- A master's degree
- International school experience in addition to USA teaching experience
- Teachers who are Interested in and are able to coach or sponsor sports, clubs, activities for Middle and High School students (please take note that this requires a significant amount of after-school and/or/weekend time)
