Dear Mazapan Family! - Message from Superintendent

Querida Familia Mazapan! - Mensaje de la Superintendente

Dear Mazapan Family,

Congratulations on the successful completion of the 2020-2021 school year!  I would like to take this opportunity to say “thank you” to each of our parents for your support and collaboration during this school year! Never did we imagine that we  Each of our students have grown as learners, and demonstrated determination, resilience, and a positive spirit throughout this year.

Looking back, this year has shown us once again that a successful school is not defined by its facilities, programs, or even the confines of the classroom walls, but the success lies in the people!  I am incredibly proud of our teachers who have maintained a “whatever it takes” mindset in maintaining the quality of learning that you have come to know and expect. I am grateful for our parents who have served as partners in their child’s learning process and provided us with the opportunity to come into your homes each day! I am grateful for our school’s leaders who have taken every curve ball thrown our way and found ways to guide our teaching and learning process to remain focused on what’s best for our kids, regardless of the circumstances.  Of course, I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge our incredible students who remained committed, found new ways to engage with one another, and embraced the opportunities provided through virtual learning! The triangle of success has never been stronger, as we have seen a connection between home, school, and students like never before!

Over the years, I have treasured the relationships I have made with each of your families and from the bottom of my heart, I could not be more grateful for your support and for the trust that you have given us with your most treasured thing in life- your children!  It has been the honor of my life to have been a part of and to have led the Mazapan family over these last 8 years. I know that each of our students will go on to leave their mark on this world!   Thank you, once again, and I wish you all the best! May you all remain safe, healthy, blessed, and joyful!

In Pelican Spirit,

Courtney C. Brandel

Estimada Familia Mazapan:

Courtney C. Brandel

CC Awards Ceremony

Dear Character Counts,
We are very grateful and proud of the work you have done throughout the school year.
And although the pandemic restricted our in-person interaction, it did not affect our ability to develop projects in and out of school. Your creativity, inventiveness, and desire to help make our organization excel in everything.
Working with all of you was an enriching experience and we look forward to what the next year will bring.
Whether we go back to school or continue from home, I am sure, now more than ever, that you can do it all.
If we continue to work together, if you keep that spirit of service and commitment, I am sure that we will be able to adapt to any challenge in the coming year without giving up the six pillars that represent us.
You make us Pelican proud.
Yours,
Character Counts Advisors.

4th Grade Welcome to Middle School/ 4to grado, bienvenidos a la escuela media

Dear 4th-grade students,

Congratulations on the completion of this school year. Surely it was full of challenges but also of satisfaction. And now it is time to enjoy a well-deserved break.
The next time you return to school you will be 5th graders, you will be part of middle school and we want you to know that your 5th-grade teachers will be ready and excited to welcome you back.
On Wednesday, May 26th we had the opportunity to meet and get to know you a little bit and for you to get to know us and the class we teach. We enjoyed hearing your questions and knowing how excited and enthusiastic you are to become middle schoolers.
We know that moving to a new level can be a little overwhelming, but more than being afraid or stressed, we want you to be excited and ready to learn.
You should know that if you have any questions you can reach out to your teachers. Email communication will become really important as 5th graders.

Next year will be full of challenges but we are confident that you will be able to overcome them and enjoy 5th grade.
We look forward to seeing you develop and always keep in mind that your teachers will be here to help you.
-Your 5th-grade teachers
