Whether your child is beginning an exciting and engaging learning journey in our Pre-School, building a solid foundation of learning, curiosity, and independence in our Elementary School, cultivating talents, interests, and critical thinking in our Middle School, or maximizing their potential while preparing for university and career in our High School, we are committed to providing each child with individualized attention and support and eager to welcome you to the Mazapan School family!

Admissions Requirements

Pre-School

1st Grade

2nd - 12th Grade

Pre-school applicants will be invited to a scheduled visit before the admissions test.

Requirements

Nursery:

  • be 3 years old by September 1st.

Pre-kinder: ​

  • have completed Nursery in english. ​​
  • be 4 years old by September 1st.

Kindergarten:

  • ​​have completed one year of nursery and pre-kindergarten in English.
  • be 5 years old by September 1st. 

First grade applicants will be invited to a scheduled visit before the admissions test.

Requirements

  • be 6 years old by September 1st.​
  • have completed a minimum of two years of pre-school preparation in English.
  • not be attending first grade in another school.

All applicants are welcome to make an appointment to visit and see our facilities.

Requirements

  • ​be no more than two years older than the average student's age at that grade level.
  • have a minimum average of 70% in each subject of his/her report card​.

Submit the following documents and follow these steps when applying:

  1. ​Complete the admission application form (Available below). Must attach student's picture.
  2. Original birth certificate.
  3. Report cards / Transcripts from the previous 2 years (For Pre -Kinder: Only submit Report Card for Nursery)
  4. Copy of both Parents ID
  5. Letter of economic solvency from previous school. (All grades except Nursery)
  6. Proof of payment for US $75.00 Admissions Testing fee
  7. Letter of Conduct from previous school. (All grades except Nursery)
  8. Certification of studies and copies of official school records. (Applies to transfers to grades 8th to 12th from a Honduran School)
  9. Complete records release form from previous school. (If transfering from another country)

Submit the following documents and follow these steps after being admitted:

  1. ​Registration Form.
  2. Completed student’s medical history form (available here and at the school's office) This form must be signed by 3 different specialists:
    • ​Vaccination records / Medical examination (Pediatrician)
    • Eye exam (Ophthalmologist)
    • Audition exam (Otolaryngologist)
  3. Report Cards & Certificates of study for current year.
  4. Copy of the Registration Payment receipt.

About the School

Mazapan School is a Nursery-12 co-educational bilingual school Founded in 1928 and located in La Ceiba, Honduras, offers an U.S.-style college preparatory instruction program. The students attending Mazapan School become fluent in both English and Spanish and receive a U.S. High School diploma and a Honduran Baccalaureate degree.
